Sometimes you just get lucky. We found the Bartlett Inn by chance this past summer as we were wandering through the White Mountains and taking things a day at a time. Despite the late hour and our unannounced arrival, we were greeted like old friends dropping by.
This is the place you imagine when you think of a New England inn. They've got a variety of rooms and cottages with decor ranging from a relaxed, woodsy feel to pure opulence. But no kitschy, overdone cuteness here, and no fake or 'plastic' feel about the place.
Nick & Marian, the innkeepers, are friendly and genuine. They manage to always be accessible, available, and a step ahead when you need or want something. And at the same time they are virtually invisible when you don't need them and just want to relax. Plus, Nick makes a MEAN French toast for breakfast!
